La Matanza - Buenos Aires<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In March 2023, I traveled with my friend Denise from Alberta on a two weeks mission trip to Argentina. We have traveled together since 2003 through Canada, Europe, and Argentina. The purpose of the trip was to visit people in need, meet pastors from different denominations, and visit my brother Hugo in another area of Buenos Aires.<\/p>

First, I would like to share with you our visits to different interdenominational organizations regulated by the Argentine government, local churches, and their ministries. The courts send young people in need to these places: homes for 13-16 year old abused girls, a center for addicted youth, two after-school care centers, and a home for children of incarcerated parents. These institutions receive partial financial support from the government and can freely present the love of God.<\/p>

Secondly, we went to minister in some churches.<\/p>

The young girls who live in this home are between 13 and 16 years old. They were mentally, sexually, or physically
abused by their parents, relatives, or friends. The judge sends them for some time to this home where they can have
a better life, learn to cook, have a safe place to live, and receive God’s love. Some of them live there for months,
others for years. The decision depends on the situation determined by the court. We prayed, talked, and spent time
with the girls and their caregivers. Two of them became born-again Christians.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

When we arrived at this establishment, we observed that the building was in poor condition. The walls from the dining room, classroom, bathroom, and kitchen needed repair and paint. These people live in a place of great need. The volunteers demonstrated unconditional love by using what they had to help the broken-hearted. This building is located in a very humble neighbourhood. We prayed for the leaders and bought three 20-litre cans of paint to sow into such a needy place.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A group of friends saw that the children of their neighborhood did not eat well at home, so they decided to open and after school center to provide them with food, milk, and the Word of God. The parents of the children were surprised by the love of those in charge. They began to ask questions, and today there is a church there. The parents start to know a loving Christ who cares for them. In Villa Celina, we ministered, and eight of the children accepted Jesus into their hearts. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0<\/span>The children live here because their parents are in jail and they don\u2019t have relatives who can care for them. This home is supported by local churches and the government. These children live here until the court can find someone who can care for them. Not everything they receive is enough, but they do the impossible to help those in need.<\/p>

When we arrived at this home, our hearts filled with joy. We observed that despite all the family needs of the boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 10, they were happy. All of them were playing and laughing in the garden. There were two buildings, one for the boys and the other for the girls with twenty four hour caregivers. In this home, they have mattresses to sleep on, clothes to wear, food to eat, and the love of Christ through the people who care for and love them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In conclusion, with our visit to these establishments, I observed the love of Christ in each person. They were helping those in need because they wanted to show God’s love with actions, not just words.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

En marzo de 2021, cuando estaba viendo las noticias de Argentina, vi en la TV los incendios forestales en la Patagonia. Reconoc\u00ed el lugar, porque fue un \u00e1rea donde estuvimos con un grupo de canadienses, donde hab\u00edamos visitado y ayudado a la iglesia local con el Evangelista Nico Ferreyra.\u00a0 <\/span>De repente record\u00e9 la hospitalidad de la gente durante nuestra estancia y fui profundamente tocada. Muchas casas fueron destruidas por estos incendios. Asi que me conect\u00e9 con el Nico y la iglesia local en Lago Puelo. Gracias a las donaciones de Canad\u00e1 y Reino Unido recaudamos $ 15,000.00.\u00a0 <\/span>Y ahora algunas familias han podido reconstruir sus hogares. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

En 2020 mi coraz\u00f3n se entristeci\u00f3 por el efecto del Covid-19 en la zona sur de la Patagonia, Argentina. Adem\u00e1s de escuchar acerca de la muerte de muchos amigos, supe de personas que estuvieron en cuarentena durante muchos d\u00edas, que no pod\u00edan trabajar y que ten\u00edan hambre. La noticia toc\u00f3 mi coraz\u00f3n. Comenc\u00e9 a ayunar y a orar por direcci\u00f3n. Jes\u00fas, \u00bfqu\u00e9 debo hacer?<\/p>

Durante mi devocional, recib\u00ed una visi\u00f3n. En la visi\u00f3n, el Se\u00f1or me llev\u00f3 a leer 1 Reyes 17. De repente, las palabras del vers\u00edculo 14 cobraron vida;\u201c\u2026el SE\u00d1OR Dios de Israel: \u201cLa harina de la tinaja no se acabar\u00e1, y el aceite de la botella no faltar\u00e1 hasta el d\u00eda en que el SE\u00d1OR d\u00e9 lluvia sobre la superficie de la tierra\u201d.<\/i>\u00a0 <\/span>Y preguntas: \"Se\u00f1or, \u00bfqu\u00e9 debo hacer?\" La respuesta fue \"\u00a1Ayuda a la gente!\"<\/p>

Llam\u00e9 al Pastor Pablo en General Roca y me dijo que necesitaba ayuda para llevar comida a las personas hambrientas. Decid\u00ed enviar un correo electr\u00f3nico a las personas que conozco y les pregunt\u00e9 si pod\u00edan ayudarnos. En respuesta, recibimos $ 500.00. Nosotros planeamos y trabajamos junto con los l\u00edderes locales, y se pudo ayudar a familias con comida por un mes. \u00a0<\/span>Tucum\u00e1n es una provincia peque\u00f1a del noroeste de Argentina. La capital es San Miguel de Tucum\u00e1n, considerada la cuna de la naci\u00f3n. En abril de 2020, estaba orando y esta ciudad conmovi\u00f3 mi coraz\u00f3n. En una visi\u00f3n, escuch\u00e9 una voz que me dec\u00eda: \"\u00a1Lily ayuda a la gente de Tucum\u00e1n!\" Mi primera reacci\u00f3n fue: \u201c\u00bfOtra vez? \u00a1Se\u00f1or, acabo de ayudar a R\u00edo Negro! \u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\u00a1Si, hazlo de nuevo!\"<\/p>

Comenc\u00e9 a orar pidiendo confirmaci\u00f3n y recib\u00ed una palabra de la Biblia en 1 Reyes 17. \u201c\u2026as\u00ed ha dicho el SE\u00d1OR Dios de Israel: \u201cLa harina de la tinaja no se acabar\u00e1, y el aceite de la botella no faltar\u00e1\u2026\u201d<\/i> Esta parte de la Biblia habla de la viuda de Sarepta y un profeta que necesitaba ayuda. Yo tambi\u00e9n soy viuda y creo que me estaba hablando directamente. Dije: \"Est\u00e1 bien, Se\u00f1or, t\u00fa hablaste, entonces obedecer\u00e9\".<\/p>

Me comuniqu\u00e9 con Walter Ferreyra, el hermano menor de Nico, quien pastorea en Tucum\u00e1n. \u00a1Ellos tambi\u00e9n hab\u00edan recibido el mismo mensaje del Se\u00f1or! Mientras oraban en una reuni\u00f3n de un grupo peque\u00f1o en una casa, una ni\u00f1a comenz\u00f3 a llorar en la dulce Presencia del Se\u00f1or.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"Pastor, debemos ayudar a la gente hambrienta\".<\/p>

En ese momento, a las personas no se les permit\u00eda trabajar debido al Covid-19 y se mor\u00edan de hambre. El pastor Walter me dijo: \u00a1debo ayudar a 1000 familias!<\/p>

\u00a1Dios m\u00edo, creo en ti!<\/p>

Le respond\u00ed al pastor: \"Ayudar\u00e9 con 700 familias\".<\/p>

Queridos amigos, una vez m\u00e1s respondieron. Sus donaciones y generosidad ayudaron a muchas personas. Gracias por sus donaciones de $ 3,500.00. Ayudaste a m\u00e1s de 2.800 personas durante ese mes. Pero eso no termin\u00f3 ah\u00ed. De repente, el pastor comenz\u00f3 a recibir m\u00e1s donaciones de empresarios de la ciudad y ayudaron a muchas m\u00e1s familias.<\/p>

Mis queridos amigos, recuerden que estuvieron all\u00ed en esp\u00edritu durante la distribuci\u00f3n de la comida y en el cielo, se sorprender\u00e1n cuando conozcan a muchas de estas familias.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
